Hi, I’m Hannah, the heart behind Educate with Hannah! With years of experience teaching children from nursery to GCSE, I am passionate about helping students not only achieve academic success but also build confidence and develop a love for learning.

I take a holistic and personalised approach to tuition, ensuring every lesson is tailored to suit your child’s individual needs. My goal is to create a nurturing and engaging environment where students feel supported, challenged, and excited to learn.

Tutoring allows me to keep my love for teaching alive while also having the flexibility to prioritise my family. This journey has given me the opportunity to combine my passion for education with a work-life balance that allows me to spend time with my loved ones.

With 15 years of experience working with children and young people, I have taught English (Y7-Y11) in a large secondary school while also providing one-to-one tuition to students needing extra support. More recently, I have worked with preschool children, focusing on enhancing literacy programmes.

My experience enables me to create a relaxed yet engaging learning environment, tailoring lessons to suit each individual’s needs. I am passionate about English as a subject and love inspiring young people to develop a lifelong love for reading and literature.

With 17 years of teaching experience, I have worked across a variety of educational settings, from mainstream primary schools to specialist SEN provisions. I have taught pupils from Year 1 to Year 11, supporting children with a range of needs, including hearing impairments, Autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties.

For 10 years, I was a SENCO, giving me a deep understanding of how to support SEND learners effectively. My experience includes 6 years teaching Year 6, where I developed a strong knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and SATs preparation. I am also trained to deliver the Read Write Inc Phonics program, helping children build strong foundations in literacy.

My creative and imaginative tutoring approach ensures students stay engaged while covering all key aspects of the GCSE and A-Level specifications. I have held leadership roles, including Head of Department and Associate Assistant Headteacher, and I currently work part-time at the University of Sussex, supporting trainee secondary school teachers on their PGCE journey.
